April 20, 1953 - May 31, 2022
Roger Herbert Hudson passed away on May 31, 2022 at the Seattle VA hospital after a courageous battle with several chronic illnesses. He was born in Bremerton on April 20, 1953 to Herbert and Marjorie (Brown) Hudson.
Roger joined the US Army at 17 and served 2 tours in the Vietnam War. In civilian life, he successfully owned and operated trucks with his wife, Debra. He also owned an air filter business in Tacoma and later started a company that set up mobile homes in new developments. Roger was an excellent businessman and always put 100% of his effort into each of his endeavors.
Roger excelled at many things, but his passion was always fishing and hunting. He enjoyed sharing his fishing expertise with friends and if you went fishing with Roger, you would likely wind up with your limit of fish— no matter how long it took.
Roger is preceded in death by his father and mother and survived by his wife, Debra Kurre, his adoptive mother, Jeanette Hudson, sisters Sandra Rodowick, Janice Anderson, Dianne Morrow, Sandra Larson and Lori Silk and many nieces and nephews.
Roger had a calm, deliberate approach to problem solving and will be missed by many, both as a friend and as a “counselor.”
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 9 at the West Side Improvement Club, 4109 West E Street, Bremerton, WA beginning at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 5, 4980 Auto Center Way, Bremerton, WA 98312.
