January 19, 1947 - November 9, 2021
Barbara Lee Trower,74, Belfair, took flight with the angels on November 9,2021. Born to Lloyd “Paul” and Rowena (Allen) Trower in Aberdeen, Wa. January 19, 1947 she moved to Bremerton in 1969 and then to Belfair.
Barb graduated from Aberdeen H.S. in 1965 and CWU in 1969. She taught and coached in the South Kitsap District for 31 years. She was an active member of Faith Community Bible Church where she served as Game Director with Awana for over 35 years.
Barb was known for her kind soul and big smile. She never met a stranger and was always eager to help anyone. She traveled extensively in Europe, India, Australia, New Zealand, and Asia, including cruising. She loved her garden, wintering in Mesa, golfing, and collect shells earning the proud nickname of “Shelly”.
Her life was full of adventures, crafting, sewing, projects, fishing and frogs but her two biggest joys came from spending time with her nephews and nieces and time at her lakefront home with friends and family.
She leaves behind Pam Calnan, her sister Pam (Greg) Montoure, nephews Mark, Nicholas and Stephen and their families including 6 great nieces and nephews all of which enjoyed many adventures at “the lake” each summer. She will be missed by dear friends, Violet and Daisy Godwin, who guided her in faith.
A celebration of life will be held on December 3rd at 10:30 am FCBC in Bremerton. Donations can be made to International Myeloma Foundation or Alzheimer’s at ALZ.org
