Karol Kay Cargo

Karol Kay Cargo passed away in Puyallup, WA on January 6, 2021 after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was born November 7, 1954 in Seattle, WA, the third of seven children of Alfred Kremling and Harriett Jane (Squire). Karol graduated from Glacier High School in 1973. She married her first husband Robert Chambers in July 1976. They welcomed their first daughter, Juli in December 1978 and Lisa in October 1980.In November 1991 Karol married the love of her life, Jimmie Cargo. When she married Jim she also became a stepmom to Jim’s two children, Jamie and Jesse.

    Karol grew up riding horses and passed that love onto her daughters. She was an active 4H leader in King County for many years and remained active with Washington State Horseman Games Division until her girls graduated. Karol was a lifetime member of South Seattle Saddle Club. She loved travelling, her favorite destinations were anywhere tropical. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends.

    Karol is survived by her husband, Jim, her daughters Juli Highfill (Jason), Lisa Fields, her step children, Jamie Ogburn (Jay), and Jesse Cargo, along with her siblings, Sandy Shimek, Linda Kenison (Ted), Wayne Kremling (Bryn), Gloria Kremling, and Keith Kremling. She is also survived by her six grandsons, JD Gaylord, Cody Fields, Cole Fields, Cain Fields, Thade Highfill, and Trent Highfill. Along with multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins. Karol is preceded in death by both her parents and one sibling.

    A celebration of life will be planned at a later date due to COVID.
