Megan J. White, 42, of Gig Harbor, WA passed away on July 23, 2020 at Franciscan Hospice House after a long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family.
She was born in Tacoma, WA on August 25, 1977 and is the daughter of James Watkins of Tacoma, WA and Brenda Murray of Gig Harbor, WA. She is surprised by her parent, husband Chris White, brother William “Wil” Watkins of Vaughn, WA, her three children Kyle Watkins, 22m Mackenzie White, 11 and Matthew White, 7her grandmother Beverly Fleming, and numerous cousins.
Megan graduated from Gig Harbor High School in 1996. She was a Preschool teacher and then was promoted to office supervisor for In His Hands Learning Center and Daycare in Gig Harbor WA for 11 years. In October of 2018 she became an independent dealer for Thirty-One Gifts LLC. She attended Inspiration Bible Church in Tacoma, WA.
She was active with with her children’s schools as a volunteer. She was active in Making Strides against Breast Cancer walk every year. She was an avid Seattle Mariners and Seattle Seahawks fan, attending as many games as she could. She enjoyed baseball and attended games for the Tacoma Rainiers at Cheney Stadium. She was also a long time fan of Harry Potter and all things Disney. She was a kid at heart and loved life to the fullest, sharing her love of life and all good things in it with family and friends.
There will be no funeral at this time. There will be a memorial service sometime this summer along with a gathering of a celebration of life event.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, please make donations in her name to the American Cancer Society. The family is grateful to the doctors and staff at Multi-care Cancer Office in Gig Harbor for all their efforts.
