Dan Wayne Johnson (Dan the Man) passed away on November 15, 2019 at home on hospice care. He was embraced by all his loved ones and family and his family that couldn’t be here but were there through FaceTime. He went to be with his maker, The Lord, who called him home. Dan was born July 20, 1956 in Tacoma, Washington to Gary Wayne and Delores Johnson.
Dan was taught meat cutting skills very early in life by his father. He worked for Smith & Co. Meats. After 25 years at Smith & Co. he left to start a business of his own, D&D Services. He really loved what he did and so many people loved him and his work. He became very close to Tim and Kari Mellema, they were family, he loved them so much. Dan was a very hard worker and very good provider for the family.
He was a happy and caring person and loved his children. He could build something out of nowhere, he would have been a great inventor! He loved his brother, sister, and parents unconditionally. He loved YouTube, which is where he learned all his trades and got things done right away. Dan had a gift of saving people from making bad choices. He would be right. He enjoyed cars, repairing homes, cleaning, painting, and building things.
Dan raised 4 of his wife Donnalee’s children and loved them all so much. He said they were not his step-kids, they were the same as the 3 children he and Donnalee had together. Dan is survived by his wife Donnalee Johnson; his parents Gary and Delores Johnson; his children; daughter Traci Johnson, son Christopher Lucero, son Guillermo (Katie) Castilleja, daughter Darlyne (Dean) Westmark, daughter Sarah Riehle, daughter Elizabeth (Andrew Henstra) Castilleja, son Matthew (Megan) Johnson, daughter Marian Johnson, and son Dan Gary Johnson; his brother Scott (Tina) Johnson; his sister Linda (Larry) Alberts; nieces and nephews; Joel, Nicole, Kristy, Krystal, Alex, and Scott; great nieces and nephews; Blake, Cayden, Elaina, Emily, Cayleb, Allie, and Mila; and 9 grandkids.
