Yukiko Wimberly

November 30, 1924 - October 5, 2007

Yukiko Wimberly was born Nov 30, 1924. She was raised in Kobe Japan. In her late 20’s Yukiko met Houston Wimberly. They were mamed, and soon moved to the United States. In 1951, Yukiko gave brith to her first child, Houston Wimberly. Houston was followed by five girls JoAnn, Toni, Barbara, Dorothy, and Cynthia. As her children grew and started their own families, Yukiko became a grandmother to 14 children, and a great grandmother to 15 children. Yukiko was a strong-welled, courageous woman. Although to the naked eye Yukiko seemed to be a small woman, but as the backbone of her family she was anything but. she carried herself with poise and grace, yet her demeanor could be as spicey as her red lipstick. She was a woman of honor, a woman to be respected and proof that big things really do come in small packages.

After living an active and independent life for many years Yukiko eventually moved to Evergreen Nursing Home. It soon became home to her. She loved to take daily walks, go to exercise class, and visit with her friends and staff. She was always bright and cheery, and loved to make new friends. We would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Evergreen for taking such good care of our mother. Thanky you Virginia, Thess and others ofr treating our mom like she was family. Yukiko was greatly loved and will be sorely missed. We will love you forever mom!
