Wiley Yee, 87 of Port Orchard, WA. Passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 8th, 2020. Wiley was born in San Francisco, CA and graduated from George Washington High School and continued on to receive an AA degree from City College of San Francisco. He was drafted by the US Army from 1953-1955 and served during the Korean War.
On July 6, 1958, he married Mamie Lau at the Presbyterian Church in Chinatown. They were married 62 years.
Wiley began his career as a draftsman for Bethlehem Steel and later went on to become a mechanical engineer for the US Navy. In 1973, he was transferred to Puget Sound Navel Shipyard and settled his family in Port Orchard.
At home, he enjoyed working in his garden while listening to ball games on his radio. But, he also loved to travel to see how the rest of the world lived. He was an active member at Port Orchard United Methodist Church and later at Colby United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mamie, his daughter, Kimi (Jarrett) Tom, his son, Ryan (Cassie) Yee, granddaughters, Lauren and Grace and Granddogs, Abby and Maiya. He was the last sibling in his generation and is preceded in death by his brothers Ray and Stephen Yee, and sisters Jennifer Wong, Ida Louie, and Betty Yick.
