I first met Marilyn when she was a 9th grader at Washington Jr. High in Olympia in 1946. She had a beautiful singing voice and participated in the Glee Clubs at school. She was always friendly but we didn't become friends until she began work for DSHS personnel in he same building where I worked. We would often go out for lunch, or to a nearby hotel coffee shop on our breaks. We were involved in many questionable romps but stayed safe. We remained friendly until she did a final move to Tacoma where unforeseen circumstances made it necessary to end the friendship.
