Obituaries » Kevin Demond Rumph
November 25, 1972 - August 29, 2022
Kevin Rumph was a devoted and protective husband and father, a loyal and dedicated friend and a selfless servant. He was most proud of the family that he had raised. He often expressed to friends that his greatest accomplishment was the life that he had created with his wife and children.
In his incredible 49 years of life, Kevin built numerous enduring friendships and nurtured a loving family. He was a great protector and provider. He attended Franklin Elementary, Signal Hill Elementary, Central Junior High, and Belleville West High School. Following high school, Kevin attended Joliet Junior College and Belleville Area College. In 1996, Kevin joined the U.S. Air Force and served in a variety of critical medical care and aerovac roles. After 23 years of service, he retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2019. He then began a civilian career as a Health Services Coordinator with Virginia Mason Franciscan Health and continued in that role. Kevin continued his education during his service and achieved his bachelor’s degree and would have completed his Master’s in Business Administration in May 2023.
As a lifelong learner, Kevin embraced life with his relentless drive to succeed and improve himself as a man with consistent and strong ethical values. He was an uncompromising servant leader. He led with integrity always as he prioritized the needs of others well before his own. Kevin authentically loved life as evidenced by his infectious smile. His brilliant sense of humor created contagious laughter as he cultivated a zest for life in those around him. His appreciation of nature combined with his adventurous spirit, optimistic outlook, insatiable curiosity, and courage to explore resulted in a variety of interests and hobbies that he passionately shared with others. His inspiring life was extinguished far too soon. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Kevin was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Willie and Sandra Rumph. He is survived by his wife and children and his siblings.
