Florence Colleen Ehricke (Myers)

June 3, 1929 - September 13, 2019

Florence Colleen (Myers) Ehricke

Florence was born on June 3, 1929 in Longview, WA and passed away on September, 13, 2019.

She grew up in South Bend and Raymond, WA then moved to Tacoma and graduated from University of Puget Sound in 1951 with a degree in Elementary Education. Florence was a dedicated first grade and kindergarten teacher for 27 years, retiring in 1990 from Mont Downing Elementary School.

She was a member of St. Luke’s Memorial Episcopal Church and was involved for many years as a Sunday School teacher, as head of the Reception Committee, with St. Monica’s Guild, and with husband Herb, in the couple’s group “Canonaides”. In 2013 Florence was awarded the St Luke’s Woman of the Year Silver Cross. She very much enjoyed her church work, and for years was a “sandwich making” volunteer for the homeless through Skyline Presbyterian Church.

She enjoyed caring for her home and garden, and spending time with her friends. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family – especially her grandchildren, for whom she was the Best. Gramma. Ever.

Florence is preceded in death by her husband Herbert Ehricke to whom she was happily married for 40 years, brothers Roy and John Myers, and sister Betty Henderson.

She is survived by her daughters, Yvonne Cartwright Rick (Jon) and Arlene Storrar (Tom),
her beloved grandchildren Caitlin Cartwright, Meghan Cartwright, Macauley Storrar Wheeler (Michael) and Mason Storrar, and nieces Jeanne Jones, Margie Hacker and Nancy Nelle.

She will be terribly missed, but we know she is now reunited with family, and is with her Lord Jesus, and all the angels.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Children’s Home Society of Washington or St Luke’s Preschool Scholarship Fund.
