Doris Ann Mills

June 24, 1935 - January 29, 2020

Doris Ann (Brock) Mills passed away peacefully in Gig Harbor, Washington, January 29, 2020, surrounded by her loved ones. Doris was born in Molus, Harlan County, Kentucky on 6/24/1935, and moved to Los Angeles, CA, shortly after her marriage to Clifton Mills in 1956. Doris worked as a data entry operator and computer programmer in Los Angeles, CA, and then Eugene, OR, finishing out her career there in her own computer training business. After retirement, Doris and her husband lived in Cottage Grove, OR, and relocated to Puyallup, WA, to be near her children and grandchildren.
Doris’ passion in life was offering loving support to her children and grandchildren, following their interests and career paths, praying for and offering help at every step along the way. She had a generous heart, great faith in God, and loved to laugh and celebrate family milestones.
Doris is survived by her husband, Clifton Louis Mills, her sister, Mary Frances Dean, her daughter and son-in-law Karen and Arne Bush, her daughter and son-in-law Beki and Mike Breton van Groll, her eight grandchildren and their spouses, Elizabeth and Dave Nickodemus, Kristin and Scott Oliver, Amy and Nick Larsen, Julia and Kyle Hertzog, Jeremy Bush, Luke and Tracey Breton van Groll, Ike Breton van Groll, DJ Hertzog, and her nine great-grandchildren, Jacob Nickodemus, Noah Nickodemus, Eli Larsen, Evie Larsen, Cashus Hertzog, Sailour Hertzog, Jonas Oliver, Alivia Breton van Groll, Rita Breton van Groll, and nephews and nieces.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents Kit and Nannie Brock, her daughter, Julie Dawn (Mills) Stewart Woodruff, her five brothers Fred Brock, Harold Brock, Eugene Brock, Boyd Brock, and Don Brock, and her two sisters, Geneva Shepherd and Bernice Brock.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Joy of Life church, on 2d Ave in Puyallup, WA. Please contact family members for details.
