Charles Myron “Red” Bushnell passed away July 8, 2007 at Cypress Gardens in Bremerton.
Born in Port Angeles on December 7, 1924 to Charles and Reta Bushnell, Charles graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1942 where he met his first wife, Beatrice Sparks. They raised their family in Port Orchard, enjoying trailer camping and square dancing with the Square Steppers. He worked as a custodian for the Bremerton School District and automotive mechanic at George’s Chevron.
He was widely respected for his mechanical ability and will be remembered as an intelligent man who loved cars. He could recite mileage and gas prices throughout the U.S. as a result of his travels during his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents and second wife, Maxine Gilbert.
He is survived by sons, John (Vicki) of Bremerton and Jerry of Idaho Falls, Idaho; daughter, Gayle (Dan) Funk of Seattle; stepchildren, Jim (Sheila) Sisco, Renee (John) Becerra and Linda Sisco; 8 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
At his request, there will be no services. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
