Richard passed away peacefully while at home on Saturday, July 14, 2012 and was surrounded by loved ones during his final days.

Richard was born on March 16, 1921 in Spokane, WA to Victor and Ruth (Eklow) Goody. He married Fern Michels on January 5, 1946 and they lived happily in Tacoma, WA until Fern’s passing in 2006.

Richard leaves behind 3 children; Tanya, Wade and Linda; 2 grandchildren; Jennifer (and Rene) Hughes and Drake and 2 great grandchildren; Ryan and Ethan Hughes.

Richard served in the United States Navy and fought in World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the Plaster’s Union in both Montana and Washington and worked as a Pipe Coverer at the Bremerton Shipyard until he retired at the age of 55. Richard enjoyed bowling, building furniture, playing solitaire and spending time with his family. He will be missed from our lives, but never forgotten in our hearts.

A memorial service will be held at Tuell-McKee Funeral Home 2215 6th Ave Tacoma, WA 98403 on Saturday, July 21st at 10:00am. Reception to follow.
